Joe Forgie

Joe Forgie, CFA, is Head Trader at Marsico Capital Management, based in Littleton, Colorado. He has held this role since 2006, where he oversees trading operations across the firm’s range of actively managed equity mutual funds, supporting investment strategies in both domestic and global equities. His responsibilities include executing trades, managing trade flows, supporting portfolio managers, and ensuring best execution practices for the firm’s various funds.

Joe has over two decades of experience specializing in equity markets, developed through prior roles as a global trader at Macquarie Securities and Nicholas Applegate Capital Management. At Marsico, he is involved in trading for funds focused on growth, midcap growth, international opportunities, and global equity, giving him exposure to sectors including technology, healthcare, consumer discretionary, and other growth-oriented industries.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from San Diego State University and was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2018. Joe is also active in the trading community, serving as vice chairman of the Denver Security Traders Association, and is recognized for his expertise in equity trading, risk management, and operational excellence.
