Christian Halvorsen

Christian Halvorsen is Vice President, Relationship Manager at Matthews International Capital Management LLC, based in Fremont, California. In his current role, he oversees key relationships with institutional and individual investors, helping clients access and understand Matthews Asia’s suite of investment vehicles focused on Asian and emerging markets equities. He serves as a primary client contact, facilitating portfolio reviews and collaborating with internal teams to deliver tailored investment solutions in dynamic international markets.

Christian has built deep expertise in Asian and emerging market equities, drawing on Matthews’ bottom-up fundamental investment approach to identify growth opportunities across these regions. His asset class focus encompasses international equity mutual funds and strategies with an emphasis on long-term value creation in under-researched markets. Prior to joining Matthews, Christian held roles at Franklin Templeton as an Internal Wholesaler, and at Beijing Nokia as a Business Liaison, providing him with a robust foundation in both global finance and cross-border client engagement.

Christian holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of California, San Diego. He is recognized for his two-decade tenure at Matthews Asia and has played a pivotal role in expanding client understanding of Asian and emerging market investments.
