Michael Oh

Michael Oh, CFA, is a Portfolio Manager at Matthews International Capital Management LLC (Matthews Asia) based in San Francisco, California. Since joining Matthews in 2000, he has advanced through various roles, including Research Analyst and Assistant Portfolio Manager, ultimately becoming the Lead Manager for the Matthews Asia Innovators Strategy. He currently manages several strategies and funds, including the Matthews Asia Innovators Fund (since 2006), the Matthews Asia Growth Fund (since 2020), the Matthews Asia Innovators Active ETF (since 2022), and the Matthews Korea Active ETF (since 2023).

Michael specializes in equity investments focused on the Asian region, with a particular concentration on innovation-led growth opportunities and technology sectors. His research background includes extensive coverage of the technology sector, where he has supported multiple strategies across Matthews' investment platform.

He earned his B.A. in Political Economy of Industrial Societies from the University of California, Berkeley, and is fluent in Korean. Over his more than two-decade career at Matthews, Michael has contributed significant thought leadership and performance results, establishing himself as a leading expert in Asian equity markets and innovation-driven strategies.
