Randall Braunfeld

Randall Braunfeld is a Senior Research Analyst, Partner, and Assistant Portfolio Manager at Penn Capital Management Company, LLC, based in Philadelphia. He joined Penn Capital in 2015 and is primarily responsible for coverage of the Utilities sector as well as serving as the lead analyst for Senior Floating Rate Loan strategies and assisting in the management of short duration credit strategies. His research and investment focus are predominantly in high yield credit, with deep expertise in the Utilities sector and structured credit products.

Prior to joining Penn Capital, Mr. Braunfeld was a Portfolio Manager for a high yield BB-rated bond portfolio at First Niagara Bank, overseeing all aspects of portfolio construction and security selection. He also previously worked in Lehman Brothers’ high yield loan portfolio group from 2004 to 2011, where he focused on distressed and special situations, including maximizing recovery values during the firm's bankruptcy process.

Mr. Braunfeld holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis International Business School. Over his career, he has distinguished himself with an in-depth knowledge of credit research, portfolio management, and asset recovery in distressed credit situations, contributing significant insights to the high yield and senior loan investing industry.
