Al Bryant

Al Bryant is a senior portfolio manager at Segall Bryant & Hamill, LLC, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. He co-founded Segall Bryant & Hamill in 1994 and has played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s investment strategies, with a focus on managing domestic and international equity portfolios, fixed income, and alternative investments for institutional and intermediary clients.

His investment expertise spans multiple asset classes, including small cap and mid cap equities, fixed income (municipal, core, and quality high yield), and alternative investment vehicles such as private equity and fund-of-funds portfolios. Under his guidance, Segall Bryant & Hamill has been recognized for its broad sector coverage, with notable holdings across technology, transportation, furniture, and industrial sectors.

Bryant’s distinguished career includes a prior role as Senior Vice President and Partner at Stein Roe & Farnham. He holds a degree in economics (AB) from Knox College and an MBA from Indiana University Bloomington. His contributions have been instrumental in building SBH into an influential asset manager and signatory to the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).
