Michael Tremain

Michael Tremain is Managing Partner and Head of the Private Equity group at Sovereign's Capital in Chattanooga, TN, where he leads the firm's lower middle market private equity practice. He is responsible for investment sourcing, portfolio management, and driving strategic partnerships, particularly targeting businesses with revenues between $10 million and $100 million, and owner earnings of $3 million to $20 million. His investment focus includes sectors such as technology, wholesale distribution, oil & gas, healthcare, residential construction, and commercial services.

Previously, Michael served as Senior Operating Partner and Portfolio CEO at TrinRock Capital, and as President and CEO at Westbrook Service Corporation. Earlier in his career, he held leadership and consulting roles at Andersen Consulting, The Walt Disney Company, and Hard Rock Cafe International. His significant achievements include advising and executing successful transactions like the RestorePro sale and supporting growth for faith-aligned companies in the Southeast.

Michael holds an MA in International Political Economy from The London School of Economics and a BA in Economics and Political Science from The University of North Carolina. He is known for expertise in private equity transaction structuring, operational improvement, and building value in privately held companies, and actively participates in leadership groups such as C-12 and the CEO Forum.
