Dan Chace

Dan Chace, CFA, is a Portfolio Manager at Wasatch Advisors LP (also known as Wasatch Global Investors) based in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he leads the firm's international micro cap and emerging markets investment strategies. He is responsible for overseeing portfolios focused primarily on international equities, with a particular emphasis on micro-cap and small-cap companies outside the United States, including those in emerging markets. His investment approach leverages rigorous bottom-up company research to identify businesses with strong long-term growth prospects, often targeting firms with market capitalizations below $2 billion at the time of purchase.

Mr. Chace joined Wasatch in 2002 as a Senior Analyst and became a Portfolio Manager in 2003. Before joining Wasatch, he built his career as an equities analyst at leading investment banks in New York, including J.P. Morgan Securities and SG Cowen Securities, where he covered Latin American financial institutions. His earlier analytical experience in both the U.S. and Latin America has provided him with a nuanced understanding of global small-cap and emerging market investment dynamics.

He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Cultural Anthropology from Pomona College, and he is a CFA charterholder. Notably, Mr. Chace also served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay, where he worked on water sanitation and health infrastructure—experience that has contributed to his global perspective and disciplined research approach.
