Alia Abdelhameed is an Associate on the Therapeutics team at Deerfield Management, a leading healthcare investment firm based in New York, NY. In her role, she is responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and supporting portfolio companies within the therapeutics sector. Her work focuses on identifying and advancing innovative biotechnology and pharmaceutical ventures, with an emphasis on private investments in early- and growth-stage companies developing novel therapies.

Abdelhameed specializes in the therapeutics industry, covering a range of asset classes including private equity and venture capital investments in biotechnology and medical innovation. Prior to joining Deerfield Management as an Associate in May 2022, Abdelhameed was a Fellow at the firm from June 2021 to April 2022, where she gained hands-on experience in investment analysis and portfolio management. She also conducted research as a Student Researcher in the Shuman Lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from August 2021 to April 2022. Abdelhameed holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Macaulay Honors College at The City University of New York and The City College of New York. Her background in both engineering and biomedical research provides her with a unique perspective on the scientific and commercial aspects of healthcare investing.
