Cameron Wheeler

Cameron Wheeler, Ph.D., is a Partner at Deerfield Management in New York, where he leads investments on the Therapeutics team, with a focus on biotherapeutics and drug development. He joined Deerfield in 2014 and was promoted to Partner in 2018, taking a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and managing investments in innovative life sciences and healthcare companies, particularly in therapeutics and biotechnology sectors.

Prior to joining Deerfield, Dr. Wheeler was Director at Eleven Biotherapeutics and previously managed Business Development and Operations at Constellation Pharmaceuticals. He also served as Senior Associate at Third Rock Ventures, further deepening his exposure to emerging biotechnology ventures and early-stage investment.

Dr. Wheeler holds a Ph.D. and S.M. in Biological Engineering, as well as a S.B. in Mechanical Engineering, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is recognized for his expertise in biotechnology, biotherapeutics, and healthcare investment and serves as a director for several life sciences startups, contributing significantly to the development and commercialization of transformative therapeutic innovations.
