Manu Daftary

Manu Daftary is the President and Chief Investment Officer at DG Capital Management, LLC based in the Boston area, a firm he founded in 1996. At DG Capital, he leads the firm’s investment strategy, manages client portfolios, and oversees all asset management operations, with a focus on equities and multi-cap growth investing. He is also noted for sub-advising the Quaker Strategic Growth Fund and the Quaker Aggressive Growth Fund, where his management led to significant outperformance of benchmarks for over a decade.

Throughout his career, Daftary has specialized in U.S. equity strategies across large, mid, and small capitalization stocks, employing a bottom-up, opportunistic investment approach. His expertise extends to hedge fund portfolio management and risk-controlled investment strategies that prioritize capital preservation and adaptability to diverse market conditions. Prior to founding DG Capital, he served as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Hellman Jordan Management Company, managing large institutional and hedge fund assets, and held prior investment roles at Geewax, Terker & Company and the University of Southern California.

Daftary holds a B.A. (Honors) in Economics from the University of Mumbai, as well as both a B.S. and MBA in Business from California State University, Long Beach. He is also a CFA charterholder, underscoring his technical expertise in asset management and investment analysis. Widely recognized for his achievements, Daftary has been cited among the top mutual fund managers and is active in educational philanthropy, serving as Treasurer and Board Member at Flare Education.
