Timothy O'Brien

Timothy O'Brien serves as Director of Research at DG Capital Management, LLC, where he leads the firm’s research team in overseeing investment identification, analysis, and ongoing monitoring. Based in Florida, he is responsible for shaping DG Capital’s investment strategies, with particular emphasis on finding compelling risk-adjusted opportunities across the capital structure, especially in distressed securities, reorganized equities, and special situations such as restructurings, spin-offs, post-bankruptcy reorganizations, refinancings, and liquidations.

O'Brien focuses on middle market investments and specializes in situations that require deep analysis and are often overlooked by mainstream investors. His expertise spans both equity and credit investments, seeking out unique opportunities where complex or transitional events might yield outsized returns within DG Capital’s value-driven framework.

Prior to joining DG Capital in 2011, he held senior analyst positions at The Lightstone Group, Schultze Asset Management, and began his career at W.R. Huff Asset Management, all roles requiring sophisticated analysis of company and industry fundamentals for both debt and equity investments. O'Brien holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA in Finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business, marking him as a seasoned professional with demonstrated accomplishments in distressed and special situations investing.
