Varun Gehani

Varun N. Gehani is a Partner at Farallon Capital Management, LLC, based in San Francisco, where he serves in the Equities group and plays a key leadership role in managing the firm’s public equity investment strategies. In this capacity, Gehani is responsible for identifying, researching, and executing investments across public markets, with a specific focus on equities within the firm's multi-strategy platform.

Gehani’s expertise spans public equity markets, and his longstanding tenure at Farallon—from Analyst to Managing Director and now Partner—demonstrates his deep experience across investment analysis, portfolio management, and strategic decision-making. Prior to joining Farallon in 2011, he worked as an investment banking analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at J.P. Morgan, further strengthening his foundation in complex financial transactions.

He earned a B.A. in Economics with Distinction from Cornell University, graduating as a Banner Bearer for the College of Arts & Sciences and a Merrill Presidential Scholar, finishing in the top 1% of his class. Gehani is recognized for his analytical rigor and investment insight in the public equities sector, contributing significantly to Farallon’s investment performance and strategic growth.
