Steve Millham

Steve Millham is the Chief Investment Officer and Co-Founder of Rush Island Management, an asset manager specializing in publicly traded real estate and related securities. At Rush Island Management, formerly Northwood Liquid, he leads investment decision-making and portfolio management, focusing on extracting value through opportunistic investments in the public real estate markets.

Millham has over three decades of experience in real estate and alternative asset management, including a 16-year tenure as Managing Member and Partner at Farallon Capital Management. His expertise spans both public and private real estate securities, and his current work at Rush Island is defined by a concentrated, analytical approach to portfolio construction, leveraging deep industry relationships to access and underwrite real estate opportunities.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stanford University and is recognized for his leadership in real estate investment strategies, particularly in the listed REIT and real assets space. Under his guidance, Rush Island Management manages a portfolio concentrated in sectors like office, industrial, healthcare, and hospitality within publicly traded real estate, and is known for generating excess returns through sector and security selection.
