Christopher Shipley

Christopher Shipley is Senior Vice President and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Fort Washington Investment Advisors, Inc., based in Cincinnati, OH. In this role, he jointly oversees all equity investment activity, with responsibilities that include setting equity investment policy, directing equity portfolio management, research, trading, and risk management functions. He also shares responsibility for asset allocation and macroeconomic positioning across both Fort Washington and its parent company, Western & Southern Financial Group.

Shipley's investment expertise is concentrated in equity markets, with a particular focus on US and global equities—an emphasis he brings from his prior work managing fundamental equities and driving tactical asset allocation decisions. He actively evaluates sector exposures, factor allocations, and capital flows within large public equity portfolios, with special attention to growth versus value dynamics, technology, and the structural characteristics of US markets.

Prior to Fort Washington, Shipley held several leadership positions over 23 years at Northern Trust Asset Management, including Chief Investment Strategist for North America and Head of Fundamental Equities, where he led portfolio management, research teams, and strategy committees. He holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Northern Illinois University, and is recognized for his operational and technological innovations within investment management.
