Allen Steinkopf

Allen Steinkopf served as a Portfolio Manager at Mairs & Power, Inc. in Minneapolis, MN, where he played a central role in the management and leadership of the firm's Small Cap Fund from 2013 until his passing in December 2022. As lead manager, he focused on investment strategy and oversight for the fund, with an emphasis on small-cap equities primarily rooted in the Midwest region. His responsibilities included portfolio strategy, detailed analysis of small-cap companies, and the execution of Mairs & Power’s disciplined, long-term investment approach.

Before joining Mairs & Power, Steinkopf was Head of Small Cap Equities and Portfolio Manager at Nuveen Investments from 2004 to 2013, and previously served as Assistant Portfolio Manager at Advantus Capital Management between 1992 and 2003, reflecting extensive leadership in equity analysis and portfolio management. At Mairs & Power, he was recognized for his emphasis on high-quality, regionally focused businesses, and contributed significantly to the firm's investment philosophy and regional expertise.

Steinkopf held a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
