Alana Mag

Alana Mag, CFA, CAIA, is Principal, Investment Research and Operational Due Diligence at Northside Capital Management, LLC, based in San Francisco. In this role, she leads investment research, manager diligence, operational risk assessment, and asset allocation for multi-asset portfolios, serving high net worth individuals, family offices, and institutional clients. Her expertise spans evaluating macro and market conditions, sourcing and monitoring investment opportunities, and conducting in-depth analysis across both traditional and alternative asset classes, including private equity and hedge funds.

Ms. Mag joined Northside Capital Management in 2012, progressing from Senior Research Analyst to Principal. Prior to Northside, she was part of the Alternative Investments & Manager Selection team in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Management division, where she evaluated both long-only and alternative strategies, and supported liquidity management and analytics for private equity fund-of-funds.

She holds a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from New York University’s Stern School of Business and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). Ms. Mag is recognized for her operational due diligence leadership and her ability to identify opportunities across equity, fixed income, and alternative sectors for complex client portfolios.
