Matthew Poterba

Matthew Poterba, CFA, is a Senior Analyst at Richard Bernstein Advisors LLC, where he is responsible for conducting top-down macroeconomic research to inform the firm’s global equity and multi-asset allocation strategies. He plays a key role in shaping the firm’s investment outlook through macro analysis, portfolio construction, and the generation of research on global markets, with particular focus on emerging markets, including Latin America and Asia, as well as developed international equity sectors.

Prior to joining Richard Bernstein Advisors, he served as an Associate Analyst in the securities and finance practice at NERA Economic Consulting, specializing in the valuation of fixed income and derivative products for litigation and financial consulting assignments. His expertise encompasses macroeconomics, valuation, and quantitative research, drawing on significant experience in both the investment management and economic consulting industries.

Matthew holds a B.A. with honors in Mathematics and Economics from Hamilton College and has contributed to academic research published in peer-reviewed journals. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, recognized for his analytical rigor and published insights on sector rotations, emerging market equities, and global asset allocation.
