Ankur Crawford

Ankur Crawford, Ph.D., serves as Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Fred Alger Management, LLC in New York City. She manages key strategies, including the Alger Capital Appreciation, Alger Focus Equity, Alger Spectra, and Alger Mid Cap Growth portfolios, which are primarily focused on U.S. large-cap growth equities, with an emphasis on companies undergoing significant positive change. Dr. Crawford is recognized for her investment expertise in the technology sector—where she previously led Alger’s technology sector team—and is noted for identifying transformative innovators, particularly in software, AI, and growth-oriented tech industries.

Having joined Alger in 2004, Dr. Crawford progressed through several research roles before becoming a portfolio manager in 2010. Her prior experience includes engineering at Intel and a summer analyst position at Merrill Lynch. Her leadership has been recognized with industry honors, such as Money Management Executive’s “Top Women in Asset Management” and InvestmentNews' Excellence in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Awards.

Dr. Crawford holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University, and dual B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science & Engineering from UC Berkeley. She is an Intel Ph.D. Fellowship awardee, patent holder, and currently serves as a board member for The Knowledge House, supporting technology education access for underserved communities.
