Derek Maupin

Derek Maupin is Vice President, Portfolio Manager, and Senior Research Analyst at Hodges Capital Management, based in Dallas, TX. In his current role, he co-manages the Hodges Intrinsic Value Fund (HDSVX) and oversees several investment strategies for a range of clients including financial advisors, family offices, pension plans, and foundations.

Derek's investment focus is primarily on small-cap companies, employing both value and growth strategies with a rigorous, fundamental bottom-up approach to stock selection. He specializes in uncovering companies with high intrinsic asset value, low price-to-book ratios, attractive dividend yields, and those poised for turnaround—often benchmarked against the Russell 2000 Value Index.

Before joining Hodges Capital Management in 2009, Derek began his career at Edward D. Jones & Co. and BP p.l.c. in Amarillo. He holds a BA in Finance (2004) and an MBA (2005) from West Texas A&M University.
