Machel Allen

Machel Allen is President and Chief Investment Officer at Metis Global Partners, where she leads the firm's business strategy and oversees the investment team responsible for research and the management of portfolio strategies. She specializes in global equity solutions, including international and U.S. equity portfolios, with a particular focus on quantitative approaches and constructing customized Guided Beta™ index strategies for institutional clients. Machel has addressed misconceptions about micro-cap equities and advocates their unique potential within broader asset allocations, and she is active in advancing sustainable investment practices through industry engagement.

Allen’s career spans more than 30 years in asset management, including a decade at Brandes Investment Partners as Senior Quantitative Research Analyst and Portfolio Strategies Manager, where she built the quantitative process now used at Metis Global Partners. She previously served as an equity analyst at Lord Abbett & Co. LLC, covering both international and U.S. portfolios, and held earlier roles in institutional investment consulting at LCG Associates and Watson Wyatt, developing her expertise in manager research and investment consulting.

She holds an MBA in Investments/Finance and a BBA in Finance from Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Machel Allen is recognized as a CFA charterholder, a Past President and Board Director of the CFA Society of San Diego, Advisory Board Member of The Brandes Institute, and a member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance, reflecting her significant contributions to both investment research and diversity in asset management.
