Ryan Smith

Ryan Smith is Principal and Portfolio Manager at Peregrine Capital Management LLC in Minneapolis, MN, where he leads the Small Cap Growth investment team. His responsibilities include fundamental research, stock selection, and portfolio management, specializing in U.S. small-cap equities with a focus on growth-oriented companies across diverse sectors.

Prior to joining Peregrine in 2018, Ryan was an Equity Portfolio Manager at RBC Global Asset Management (U.S.) Inc., managing small, SMID, and mid-cap growth portfolios, and earlier served as an Equity Research Analyst at the same firm. He began his career at William Blair & Company as an Equity Research Associate and at Ernst & Young, providing a broad foundation in financial analysis and investment research.

Ryan holds a Bachelor's degree from Lehigh University and a Master's in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. He is a CFA® charterholder, Certified Public Accountant (inactive), and active member of the CFA Society and CFA Institute, reflecting his expertise in fundamental analysis, equity research, and portfolio management. His significant achievement includes co-leading Peregrine's nationally recognized Small Cap Growth strategy.
