Tim Christiansen

Tim Christiansen serves as Head Equity Trader at Sawgrass Asset Management, LLC, where he leads equity trading operations and collaborates closely with research and portfolio management teams to optimize execution strategies. Based in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Christiansen is responsible for overseeing daily trading of equities, with a focus that includes small- and large-cap growth equity portfolios, as indicated by his role in the Genesis Small Growth Equity strategy at the firm.

With decades of industry experience, Christiansen has an extensive career in both equity and derivatives trading, including institutional trading of equity options and futures on Wall Street prior to joining Sawgrass. His expertise spans advanced trading technology and market microstructure, and he has been quoted in industry publications discussing the evolution of direct market access (DMA) platforms and the importance of buyside order anonymity.

Christiansen holds an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and a Bachelor’s Degree magna cum laude in Chemistry, also from Duke. His analytical background and commitment to best execution have contributed to Sawgrass Asset Management’s reputation for disciplined, risk-aware equity management, particularly in small- to mid-cap U.S. growth equities.
