Christopher Chua

Christopher Chua serves as a Portfolio Manager at Simplify Asset Management Inc. (SAMI), where he has led fund management alongside his colleagues since January 2025. In this capacity, he is jointly and primarily responsible for overseeing investment strategies and daily operations of Simplify’s funds, focusing on relative value assessments and market condition analysis to ensure safety of principal and optimal liquidity. Chua manages portfolios with a particular emphasis on fixed income and money market instruments, as reflected in his current fund assignments, and is actively engaged in assessing market, interest rate, and liquidity risks within these sectors.

Before his current role, Chua held positions of increasing responsibility at SAMI: he was previously an Operations Associate (September 2022 to January 2025) and a Portfolio Associate Intern (January 2022 to September 2022). His career also includes experience as a Financial Analyst at Wedbush Securities from October 2020 to September 2021, contributing to his analytical foundation in investment finance and securities operations.

Chua holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of California, Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business and a B.S. in Business/Managerial Economics from California State University, Los Angeles. His expertise centers on fixed income, money markets, and fund operations, and he has contributed notably to the launch and management of Simplify’s publicly traded funds, providing technical leadership in risk management and portfolio construction for institutional and individual investors.
