James Eisenman

James Eisenman, CFA, CPA, is Portfolio Manager – Global SMID Cap at Vaughan Nelson Investment Management, based in Houston, Texas. In this role, he leads portfolio management for global small- and mid-cap equity strategies, driving stock selection, portfolio construction, and investment research within this asset class. His primary focus is on equities in the global SMID cap universe, seeking opportunities in undervalued companies across developed and emerging markets and employing a high-conviction approach centered on deep fundamental analysis.

Eisenman has been with Vaughan Nelson since 2005, ascending from Equity Research Analyst to Vice President – Equity Investments, before assuming his current portfolio management responsibilities in 2020. His expertise covers a wide range of sectors within small- and mid-cap equities, guided by a disciplined value approach and a focus on absolute returns. Before his tenure at Vaughan Nelson, he worked as a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, bringing a strong accounting background to his investment analysis.

Holding both a Master’s in Accounting and a B.B.A. with honors in Accounting from The Ohio State University, Eisenman is also a CFA charterholder and licensed CPA in Texas. With over 22 years of experience in investment management and research, he is recognized for his rigorous process, sector-agnostic research skills, and contributions to the development and management of global SMID cap strategies at Vaughan Nelson.
