John Malooly

John Malooly, CFA, is a Portfolio Manager at Wasatch Advisors LP (Wasatch Global Investors) in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he serves as the lead portfolio manager for the Wasatch Small Cap Ultra Growth strategy and the Wasatch Ultra Growth Fund. With over 27 years at Wasatch and nearly three decades of industry experience, he specializes in identifying high-growth, small-cap U.S. equities, with a particular investment focus on the health care sector, especially medical devices, where he values the industry’s barriers to entry and deep research opportunities.

Before joining Wasatch in 1997, Malooly worked as an investment specialist at UMB Fund Services and held earlier roles at Strong Funds, giving him a well-rounded background in both operational and investment research functions.
