Mike Valentine

Mike Valentine is a Portfolio Manager and Co-Head of U.S. Small Cap Investing at Wasatch Global Investors in Salt Lake City, where he manages portfolios such as the Wasatch U.S. Select and Wasatch Global Select strategies. At Wasatch since 2016, he leads research and investment decision-making for U.S. small-cap and global growth equity portfolios, and also serves on the firm's Board of Directors.

His investment focus centers on U.S. small-cap and global equities, with specific sector expertise across information technology, consumer discretionary, industrials, healthcare, and basic materials. Valentine emphasizes quality, long-duration growth investing, and regularly highlights opportunities in sectors undergoing temporary underperformance, notably small caps, technology, and consumer-oriented companies.

Prior to joining Wasatch, Valentine was a portfolio manager at Point72 Asset Management, where he managed a long/short fund focused on technology and telecom, and he began his buy-side career at Fidelity Investments, developing technology-sector strategies and managing diversified portfolios. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Amherst College and is recognized in the industry for his analytical rigor, cross-sector research acumen, and commitment to in-depth qualitative company analysis.
