Bob Brogan

Bob Brogan, Sr., CMT, is Senior Vice President and Founder of The Brogan Group Equity Research, a division of Wellington Shields & Co. LLC, based in Philadelphia, PA. In his current role, he leads a team specializing in money flows and relative performance analysis, delivering real-time analytics to institutional investors managing over $2 trillion in equities. His expertise is widely recognized among institutional money managers who rely on his proprietary research tools for investment decision-making.

Throughout his career, Bob has focused on quantitative and technical analysis across global equities, blending top-down macroeconomic views with bottom-up sector and stock-specific research. He and his team provide actionable insights to growth, value, and hedge fund managers worldwide, leveraging multi-factor money flow and comparative relative strength ratio analysis on all listed foreign and domestic stocks.

Bob launched his investment career in 1968 with Dean Witter, pioneered the first commercial Windows-based research workstation for buy-side managers (acquired by Reuters), and developed influential models such as “The Money Flow Persistency Model.” He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Villanova University and is a Chartered Market Technician (CMT), underscoring his longstanding commitment to technical, quantitative, and market behavior analysis in the investment industry.
