Paul Gulden

Paul Gulden is Managing Member and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Wellington Shields Capital Management LLC, where he plays a central role in shaping the investment policy and managing client portfolios. As Co-CIO, he oversees portfolio construction and asset allocation for individual and institutional clients and authors the firm’s quarterly investment letter, providing strategic direction and market insights.

Gulden's investment expertise spans multiple asset classes, with a particular focus on equity, balanced, and fixed income portfolios. He has considerable experience in socially responsible growth funds, having served as Chief Investment Officer for the Pax Growth Fund, and draws on deep knowledge of both large- and small-cap equities, as well as multi-cap and socially responsible investment strategies.

With a career beginning at the Bank of New York and progressing through senior roles including CIO at H.G. Wellington Capital Management, Gulden has been active in the industry since the 1970s. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and studied accounting and economics at New York University’s graduate school. His notable contributions include frequent media commentary and thought leadership within the investment community, as well as service on various boards and civic organizations.
