David Fink

David Fink is the Managing Director and Assistant Portfolio Manager at Contrarian Capital Management, L.L.C., based in New York. In his current role, he is responsible for co-managing the firm's Emerging Markets Fund strategy, focusing on distressed and special situation corporate opportunities globally, and has led several significant investments in sovereign and quasi-sovereign entities.

He specializes in the analysis and investment of distressed assets, special situations, and emerging market debt, with a particular focus on sovereign, quasi-sovereign, and select corporate opportunities, especially across Latin America and the energy and power sectors. Prior to joining Contrarian in 2019, he was an analyst at Perry Creek Capital, concentrating on distressed investments in Argentina and the energy sector, and also held associate positions at Bridgewater Associates, where he contributed to portfolio construction and risk management in global markets.

David Fink holds a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude, and is a CFA charterholder. His expertise spans financial modeling, investments, portfolio management, and risk analysis, and he has made notable contributions by leading high-profile transactions in emerging markets and special situations investing.
