Peter Bergren

Peter Bergren is Partner and Chief Financial Officer at Empyrean Capital Partners, LP, an event-driven, multi-strategy investment manager headquartered in Los Angeles. In this role, he oversees all aspects of the firm's financial operations and risk management, playing a key leadership role in capital preservation, financial reporting, and ensuring regulatory and audit compliance for a portfolio spanning multiple asset classes, including equities, credit, and convertible securities.

Prior to joining Empyrean in 2013 as Director of Accounting, Peter held senior accounting and finance positions at Magnetar Capital, where he managed administration and reporting for more than forty multi-strategy private funds and registered products. He began his career as an Assurance Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, gaining foundational expertise in public accounting and audit for financial institutions.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and is both a CFA charterholder and a Certified Public Accountant. He serves on several nonprofit boards in Los Angeles focused on educational access, and is recognized for significant contributions to fund administration and strategy execution in event-oriented, cross-asset-class investing.
