Seth Shapiro

Seth Shapiro is currently a Principal at Empyrean Capital Partners, LP, a multi-strategy, event-oriented hedge fund managing around $4 billion in assets. In this role, he is primarily focused on equities, utilizing the firm's platform to identify and capitalize on special situations, event-driven, and opportunistic investment opportunities in public markets.

He brings extensive experience in equity and event-driven investing across multiple roles in the investment industry. Prior to joining Empyrean in 2018, Shapiro served as a Partner at Glenhill Capital for over a decade, where he was responsible for sourcing, analyzing, and managing investments across sectors. He began his career as a Senior Analyst at GoldenTree Asset Management, further strengthening his analytical and research expertise in public equities and credit.

Shapiro’s investment focus includes public equities and event-driven strategies, with an emphasis on complex or mispriced opportunities commonly found in market, regulatory, or legal special situations. He holds a BBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, enhancing his credentials in equity analysis and portfolio management.
