Michael Zhao

Michael Zhao is an Analyst at Kinetic, based in New York, where he leverages his private equity background to support the firm’s investment strategy. His current responsibilities include conducting due diligence, market analysis, and financial modeling, with a focus on sourcing investment opportunities and supporting portfolio management.

Prior to joining Kinetic, Michael was a Private Equity Associate at Blackstone, where he gained substantial experience evaluating and executing transactions across diverse sectors. He also served as a Private Equity Summer Analyst at Blackstone, further strengthening his expertise in the private markets.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with minors in Finance and Literature. He is a recipient of the Phi Beta Kappa Award and graduated Cum Laude from The Lawrenceville School, demonstrating strong academic performance and a multidisciplinary approach to investment analysis. His work primarily focuses on private equity and growth-stage investments in sectors including financial services and technology.
