Hoon K

Hoon K is the Founder, Managing Principal, and Chief Investment Officer at Quantinno Capital Management LP, based in New York, NY. In this role, he leads the firm's investment strategy, focusing on delivering fully customized, tax-optimized managed account solutions, with a particular emphasis on maximizing after-tax wealth for taxable investors such as family offices, RIAs, and high-net-worth individuals.

His investment expertise centers on quantitative equity strategies, portfolio optimization, and systematic global stock selection, specifically targeting equity markets and tax-aware investing. Throughout his career, Hoon has managed hundreds of institutional equity accounts and hedge fund strategies, developing innovative techniques at the intersection of tax, portfolio management, and equity research.

Prior to founding Quantinno in 2018, Hoon held senior positions at AQR Capital Management as Principal and Head of Portfolio Construction/Implementation for global stock selection, and at Mellon Capital Management as Vice President and Head of Quantitative Equity Research. He holds a Ph.D. and MBA in Accounting from Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business, a BA from Yonsei University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Hoon is recognized for pioneering advances in tax-aware investment processes and implementing systematic investment solutions for taxable investors.
