Fernando de Frutos, CFA, PhD, is the Chief Investment Officer at Boreal Capital Management, based in Miami, Florida, a position he has held since January 2015. In this role, he oversees the firm's global investment strategy, asset allocation, and investment advisory services, with a particular focus on wealth management and international portfolio solutions for high-net-worth clients.

With over 20 years of experience in international wealth management, Fernando is recognized for his expertise in designing investment products, managing multi-asset class portfolios, and providing strategic investment advice. He covers a broad range of asset classes including equities, fixed income, alternative investments, and structured products, and is noted for integrating macroeconomic perspectives into portfolio construction.

Prior to joining Boreal Capital Management, Fernando held senior leadership roles at Monitor Deloitte as Senior Manager Strategy in Financial Services and served as Head of Investment Products and Investment Advisory at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. He holds a PhD in International Relations and Political Economy, an MBA from IMD, a Chief Investment Officer Program certification from Columbia Business School, as well as advanced degrees in mathematics, physics, and financial markets, underscoring his analytical rigor and cross-disciplinary investment approach.
