Mark Halverson

Mark Halverson is Senior Portfolio Manager and Investment Committee member at Compass Capital Management, Inc. in Saint Paul, MN, where he has been a key contributor since 2006. His current responsibilities include overseeing the firm's equity and fixed income portfolios, as well as working directly with clients to develop tailored strategies for financial planning, retirement, tax optimization, estate transitions, and legacy structuring. He collaborates closely with clients, their CPAs, attorneys, and other advisors to provide comprehensive solutions encompassing cash flow management, business transitions, insurance analysis, charitable giving, and inheritance strategies.

Mark has deep expertise in managing both public and private market investments, with a focus on equity and fixed income asset classes. Prior to joining Compass Capital, he was part of Prudential Capital Group’s private placement team in San Francisco, where he invested debt and equity capital for institutional clients from 1999 to 2006; before that, he was an analyst in the mergers & acquisitions group at US Bancorp Piper Jaffray in Minneapolis.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. Mark’s professional approach is grounded in decades of experience across investment analysis, client advisory, and investment committee leadership, making significant contributions to strategic financial planning and portfolio management for a diverse client base.
