John Doughty serves as the Principal and Chief Investment Officer at R. M. Davis, a leading registered investment advisor headquartered in Portland, Maine, with $7 billion under management. In this capacity, he chairs the firm’s Investment Committee, overseeing investment strategy, guiding research analysts, and managing client portfolios, while also serving as a shareholder and client advisor.

John’s expertise is centered on the intersection of energy, economics, and geopolitics, with a strong history of covering sectors such as telecommunications, media, cable, and fixed income—experience that originated from his roles at Credit Suisse First Boston and Bear Stearns, where he was a vice president and recognized member of top-ranked institutional research teams.
