Jay Flower

Jay Flower, CFP®, is a Portfolio Manager and Director of Marketing at HM Payson & Co. in Portland, Maine, where he oversees client portfolios and plays a key leadership role in business development and firm strategy. He is recognized for building long-term, multi-generational relationships with clients and is actively involved in the firm's Financial Planning Group and Marketing Committee.

Jay draws on over two decades of experience in investment management, including prior positions as Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Old Port Advisors and Financial Advisor at Legg Mason (now Morgan Stanley). His expertise spans asset allocation, long-term portfolio management, and comprehensive financial planning for individuals, families, and institutions. At HM Payson, he applies a disciplined, research-driven approach across a broad range of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and multi-asset portfolios, with a focus on wealth preservation and growth.

Jay is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and holds a B.A. from Hobart College. He has also contributed to the community as a trustee and committee chair for organizations such as North Yarmouth Academy and the Freeport Historical Society.
