Stefan Renold

Stefan Renold is a Founding Partner at LMR Partners, a global multi-strategy investment firm, where he serves as Product Head for both volatility and event-driven asset classes. He has played a pivotal role in establishing LMR’s reputation for high Sharpe ratio solutions, absolute return strategies, and expertise in relative-value investing across major asset classes including commodities, credit, equity, event, fixed income, and volatility.

Renold’s investment focus is on volatility and event-driven strategies, leveraging systematic and discretionary approaches for institutional clients. Before founding LMR Partners in 2009, he worked as a quantitative equity proprietary trader at UBS Investment Bank within the Equities division, where he built deep expertise in equity trading and quantitative modeling.

He holds a first-class Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, completed in 2006. Renold’s technical and analytical background has underpinned his leadership in the alternative asset management sector, contributing to LMR’s consistent track record of outperformance and global expansion, including the successful launch and growth of multiple international offices.
