Sreeniwas Prabhu

Sreeniwas (Sreeni) Prabhu is a co-founder, Managing Partner, Co-CEO, and Group Chief Investment Officer at Angel Oak Capital, based in Atlanta, GA. In his role, he is responsible for leading the firm's overall investment strategy, with oversight of both retail and institutional investment solutions. He also serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of Angel Oak Mortgage REIT, Inc., where he directs all aspects of portfolio management and firm growth.

Sreeni specializes in alternative credit and structured finance, with a distinct focus on non-qualified mortgage loans (non-QM), mortgage-backed securities (MBS), and whole loan strategies. Under his leadership, Angel Oak Capital has become recognized as a leading securitizer in the non-QM sector and an innovator in the second lien mortgage market, focusing on creating income solutions and credit opportunities for a diverse investor base.

Before founding Angel Oak in 2008, Sreeni was Chief Investment Officer at Washington Mutual Bank, managing a $25 billion investment portfolio that included macro asset allocation and structured products. He began his finance career at SunTrust Bank, specializing in asset/liability management and commercial mortgage-backed securities. Sreeni holds a B.B.A. in Economics from Georgia College & State University and a Master’s in Finance from Georgia State University, bringing deep expertise in portfolio management, risk, and fixed income markets to his leadership roles.
