Matt Cherashore

Matt Cherashore is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Tocqueville Asset Management L.P. in New York, where he is part of the firm’s hands-on portfolio management team responsible for managing client portfolios and developing investment strategies for high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and institutional clients. His investment responsibilities focus primarily on equities, using a value-oriented approach that emphasizes company fundamentals such as free cash flow, balance sheet strength, and dividend policy, with additional consideration of fixed income securities in portfolios.

Before joining Tocqueville in 2012, Matt served as Portfolio Manager for both equities and fixed income at The Winchester Group in New York, where he developed significant expertise in multi-asset portfolio management for private clients and institutions. He also held key roles at Moody's Investors Service and Thomas Financial Services, providing him with a broad background in credit analysis, research, and overall financial industry operations.

Matt earned his undergraduate degree from Hamilton College and an MBA from New York University, equipping him with a strong foundation in finance and investment analysis. Over his career, he has been recognized for his deep analytical ability and client-focused approach to wealth management, especially in the finance and consumer services sectors.
