Richard Zhang

Richard Zhang is an Assistant Portfolio Manager at Tocqueville Asset Management L.P., based in New York, NY. He works under the Wealth Management Group, where he guides clients through complex financial decisions by simplifying investment concepts and customizing portfolio strategies to achieve clients’ long-term growth and annual income needs, with a focus on optimizing asset allocation and tax management.

Richard's investment responsibilities encompass both equities and fixed income, leveraging Tocqueville’s expertise and unique investment process to serve high-net-worth families and multi-generational clients across a range of market cycles. While his direct asset class focus includes equities and fixed income, he is experienced in tailoring solutions across these broad sectors as part of comprehensive wealth management, rather than specializing in a narrow industry vertical.

Prior to becoming Assistant Portfolio Manager in 2022, Richard was a Portfolio Associate at Tocqueville from 2019 to 2022. He also held a product management role at LendingTree in 2019 and was a Product Analyst at ValuePenguin prior to his time at Tocqueville. Richard holds a B.S. in Finance and Sustainable Business from NYU Stern School of Business and has studied finance abroad at NYU Shanghai, grounding his expertise in both traditional finance and sustainable investing practices.
