Christian Trout

Christian Trout, CFA, is Senior Managing Director for Equity Research and a Portfolio Manager at Avalon Trust Co., based in Santa Fe, NM. In this capacity, he conducts investment research for the firm's investment committee, constructs and manages client portfolios, identifies and analyzes new investment opportunities, and monitors Avalon’s top holdings. His work spans fundamental and quantitative analysis, with a focus on equity markets and multi-asset portfolio allocations, applying both growth and value strategies across public equities and income securities.

Christian has over two decades of investment management experience, including prior roles as Equity Analyst at Beekman Capital, where he led the company's research efforts in growth stock strategies, and as Assistant Supervisor at AIM Investments (now Invesco), where he gained early experience in institutional investment operations. He also contributes to investment oversight outside Avalon, serving as Chairman of the Endowment Advisory Committee for the Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library and on the Investment Committee for the University of New Mexico Foundation.

Trout holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Houston. He is a CFA charterholder and active member of the CFA Institute, recognized for his leadership in fundamental research and portfolio construction, and for integrating quantitative and qualitative frameworks in his investment approach.
