Sam Robinson

Sam Robinson is Senior Vice President and Real Estate Research Analyst at Contrarian Capital Management, L.L.C., based in Greenwich, Connecticut. In this capacity, he leads acquisitions and asset management for the firm's private real estate investments, with a principal focus on sourcing, evaluating, and structuring opportunities in the commercial real estate debt space, including CMBS and bridge loans.

Robinson brings considerable expertise in commercial real estate (CRE) finance, having previously served as CRE Sector Manager at Medalist Partners, where he managed real estate debt investments across CMBS and bridge loan portfolios. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Candlewood Investment Group, progressing from Research Associate to CMBS Sector Manager, where he specialized in the analysis and management of CMBS and other real estate-related securities.

He holds a BA in Biology with a minor in Economics from Colgate University and is a CFA charterholder, underlining his technical analytical skillset and commitment to investment rigor. Throughout his career, Robinson has contributed to the identification and execution of value-driven real estate investment strategies across debt instruments, reinforcing Contrarian Capital’s reputation in opportunistic and distressed real estate assets.
