Sue Ellis

Sue Ellis is the Senior Vice President and Head Trader at Granahan Investment Management, based in Framingham, Massachusetts. In her current role, she leads the firm’s trading operations, focusing on execution quality and strategy within Granahan’s specialized portfolios, and is also a shareholder in the firm. Granahan Investment Management is known for its expertise in small-cap equity investing, and Sue oversees trading across the firm's core asset class: U.S. small-cap growth equities.

Sue joined Granahan Investment Management in 1994 as Vice President, Head Trader after serving as Investment Officer, Capital Markets at BayBank Boston, where she developed her expertise in capital markets and equity trading. Her investment experience spans over three decades and she has held progressively senior trading leadership roles, making key contributions to Granahan’s reputation for specialized small-cap investment strategies.

She holds a BA in English/Writing from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, providing her with strong analytical and communication skills valuable in investment operations. Sue is recognized for her deep industry knowledge in small-cap equity trading and her significant impact on Granahan’s execution and trading standards in the U.S. small-cap growth sector.
