Mark Eveans

Mark E. Eveans is President and Chief Investment Officer at Meritage Portfolio Management, based in the Kansas City area, where he oversees the firm's investment philosophy and portfolio management strategies as both a founding principal and Co-CIO. He plays a central role in leading Meritage’s overall direction, supporting their Value and Yield-Focus Equity strategies, and maintains active participation in portfolio construction for high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients. Mr. Eveans specializes in managing equity portfolios with an emphasis on value, growth, yield-focus, and small-cap equities, as well as taxable and tax-exempt fixed-income assets, reflecting a comprehensive expertise across major asset classes.

With a career spanning over four decades, Mr. Eveans previously served as Managing Director at Reimer and Koger Associates, Inc. and as Chief Portfolio Manager and Chairman of the Stock Selection Committee at Continental Illinois National Bank of Chicago. As a founding principal of Meritage Portfolio Management since 1991, his leadership has contributed to the firm’s growth into one of the top advisory firms in the region.

Mr. Eveans holds a BBA with Honors and an MS with Distinction in Finance from Wichita State University, complemented by professional designations including CFA and CIC. He is recognized for his disciplined, value-oriented investment process and commitment to maximizing long-term value through rigorous fundamental analysis and diversified strategies.
