Anna Chen

Anna H. Chen, Ph.D., is a Partner at Frazier Life Sciences, based in San Diego, CA. In her role, she leads investments and company creation efforts with a focus on sourcing innovative biopharmaceutical companies and structuring complex transactions. Dr. Chen currently serves on the boards of Alentis Therapeutics and Eyconis, Inc. and has been pivotal in notable investments such as Lengo Therapeutics (acquired by Blueprint Medicines), SanReno Therapeutics (acquired by Novartis), and Amunix Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Sanofi).

Dr. Chen’s investment activity centers on the therapeutics sector—specifically, early-stage and venture-backed biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies developing novel drug candidates. Her expertise includes identifying cutting-edge platforms, launching company creation initiatives, and supporting portfolio companies throughout the development lifecycle. She is also actively involved in both private and public biotechnology investments, often serving in governance or board roles for company creation projects.

Prior to joining Frazier Life Sciences in 2018, Dr. Chen was a management consultant at L.E.K. Consulting, advising leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients on R&D, M&A, and business development strategy. She holds a Ph.D. in Systems Biology and an A.B. in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University. Her scientific background and venture experience have enabled her to contribute significantly to Frazier’s success in company creation and high-profile exits within the biotech investment arena.
