Shahariah Shaharudin

Shahariah Shaharudin is the President of Saturna Sdn Bhd, the Malaysian subsidiary of US-based Saturna Capital Corporation, where she has led the firm since October 2018. In this role, she oversees Saturna's operations in Malaysia, steering the company’s strategy with a focus on Islamic-compliant and sustainable investment solutions for both individual and institutional clients. Her primary investment focus areas include Islamic finance, Shariah-compliant equity, and sustainability-themed asset management.

Shahariah brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across capital markets, including significant roles in asset management, commercial banking, and stockbroking. Prior to joining Saturna, she was Chief Executive Officer (and Executive Director) at Kenanga Islamic Investors Berhad, where her stewardship led to industry recognition, such as The Edge | Thompson Reuters Lipper Malaysia Best Equity – Malaysia Islamic Fund awards and rankings for excellence in Islamic equity funds. Previously, she held senior business development roles at RHB Asset Management, focusing on fund management and market expansion.

She holds a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Illinois Springfield and a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Knox College, Illinois. Shahariah is recognized for her strategic vision, commitment to advancing Islamic finance, and efforts to promote diversity and women’s leadership in the financial industry. She is licensed by the Malaysian Securities Commission to provide fund management services and is known for championing values-based, sustainable, and ethical investing in Southeast Asia.
