James Li

James Li is a Principal, Analyst, and member of the Investment Committee at Sustainable Growth Advisers, LP, based in New York. In this role, he leads fundamental research and contributes to portfolio management, with a focus on high-quality public equities offering predictable, sustainable earnings and cash flow growth, primarily in large- and global-cap growth equity strategies.

His investment expertise centers on the global automotive and industrial technologies sectors, which he covered as an Equity Research Analyst at Point72 Asset Management prior to joining SGA. Earlier, James was an Investment Banking Senior Associate and a Global Markets Analyst at Citigroup, where he focused on M&A, corporate finance advisory for global industrials, and rotations through derivatives trading and credit research.

James holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and dual Bachelor's degrees in Economics and Computer Science from Duke University. He is a CFA charterholder and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
