Alex Chan

Alex Chan is the Data Engineering and Data Operations Manager at Victory Capital Management Inc., based in California. In this role since July 2016, Alex oversees the development and maintenance of the firm's data architecture and operational data systems, ensuring the efficient flow and integrity of investment data for decision-making and reporting.

His expertise is centered on data engineering within the asset management industry, rather than direct investment analysis of specific sectors or asset classes. Prior to joining Victory Capital, Alex held progressively senior technical positions at RS Investments, where he specialized in enterprise applications and database development. His earlier career included technology support roles at Bain & Company and an internship in the Biology Scholars Program at UC Berkeley.

Alex holds dual Bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley—in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis on Cell and Developmental Biology, and in Psychology—demonstrating a strong foundation in quantitative analysis and scientific research. While Alex does not focus on a specific investment sector, his work is critical to Victory Capital’s investment processes through robust data systems management and operational excellence.
