Li Zhang

Li Zhang, CFA, is a General Partner at WEDGE Capital Management LLP in Matthews, NC, where she oversees the development and ongoing refinement of quantitative models applied across the firm's investment strategies. She has more than 22 years of investment experience and is an active member of the Investment Policy Committee, contributing to the firm's approach in both equity and fixed income markets, with a pronounced focus on value-oriented strategies for institutional clients.

Before joining WEDGE Capital Management in 2009, Li Zhang spent six years at Bank of America's corporate investment arm, developing quantitative strategies and economic forecasts, and previously served as a senior business analyst at Wachovia Bank, covering a range of banking activities. Her expertise is anchored in quantitative research, model development, and the application of disciplined, fundamentally-based investment approaches to identify market opportunities in sectors such as finance and consumer services, as well as broader equity and fixed income asset classes.

Ms. Zhang holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from Southwest Jiaotong University and a Master of Science in Operations Research from Northern Illinois University. She is recognized for her significant contributions to the advancement of quantitative investing within the institutional asset management industry, helping shape WEDGE Capital’s research-driven, value-centric investment philosophy.
